Helping Others

Todays topic will be about helping others. While I was thinking of an idea/topic for this blog, I decided to do a foundation called "Li Ka Shing Foundation" The foundation takes place at Hong Kong.

The owner:

The owner of the Li Ka Shing foundation is Mr. Li Ka Shing. As you can see, he named the foundation by his name. According to Luis Alberto Cardenas. "He was born in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, China at July 29 1928 (age of 83)" He started the foundation at the year 1980. Mr. Li is one of the wealthiest guy in East Asia. He is also the eleveth richest person in the world. What I like about Li Ka Shing is that he knows how to use his money in a good use. "Recently, the Li Ka Shing foundation was awarded for the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy, he was also the first chinese guy to receieve this award." -Li Ka Shing . I must say that I think he deserved it because I think his motive isn't about gaining popularity, I think it's how he helps people in need.

How it helps others:

Charities and foundations help others because they help people in need, they change peoples lives in a good way. The most common things what Charity does are they help kids to have better education, better place for helpless people to stay, health care, food, clothing and all sorts of things. According to the Li Ka Shing foundation, what they do is they "Nurture a culture of giving. Support education reform initiatives that encourage long-term thinking, empowerment, creativity, open-mindedness, and constructive engagement. Help advance medical research and services." - Mr. Li Ka Shing donated almost $1.6 billion (US) to the charity. He helped several people with his money.

Re: Masterpieces from Paris in Canberra

Vincent van Gogh Starry Night painting

http://www.artnewsblog.com/2009/12/masterpieces-from-paris-in-canberra.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+artsnewsblog+%28Art+News+Blog%29&utm_content=FeedBurner

In this blog, I will be talking about this painting from Vincent van Gogh. The masterpiece is called "Starry Night Over the Rhone" In my opinion, when I saw this art work, I was inspired on how the work was so detailed and beautiful. It makes me want to put more details into my paintings. I noticed that he used various types of shades in every colour. Even though it is not a colourful painting, the shades gave it dimensions and highlight to the painting. I realized that he used lines instead of painting it. That's very unique for a painter to do. It would be a nice experiance if I went to Vincent van Gogh's gallery because his paintings are probably neat to see in real life. In the art gallery, it will not only be Vincent van Gogh's masterpiece, Paul Gauguin and Cezanne's masterpiece will also be inside the gallery. On the blog, it says that Paul Gauguins will have 9 paintings ,Vincent van Goghs will have 7 paintings and Cezannes will have 8 paintings. Although the gallery was opened until April. But overall, I love the results of this painting.
