In this post, I will be discussing about an advertisement. In this advertisement, you will find Taylor Swift in the commercial. I chose this commercial because I that's the first thing that came up to my mind, which was "Taylor Swift"
In this commercial, I think that they chose Taylor Swift because she's famous world wide and an idol that people can look up to. (kids and adults). They used her to sell there product because people would like to use something that there idols have and use.
The brand of this advertisement is covergirl, which sells cosmetics and skin care products for people to have a better looking skin and better cosmetics for people to use.
In this commercial, they used 3 techniques to capture peoples attention. The 3 techniques are:
Celebrity: Because the advertiser is Taylor Swift. (already explain on the writing above)
Sexy: The clothes that she wore revealed more skin than usual and she was trying to be appealing and a hint of flirt in the commercial. So she can capture there attention.
Wealth: The clothes she wore.
Overall, I think that making it look sexy, it overpowered the commercial which takes over the main idea. they "did" capture our attention, although people are now focusing on Taylor Swift, not the product they are trying to sell. However, it was a good idea to choose Taylor Swift for skin products because she has flawless, smooth skin which cause that the viewers have a possibility that the product can also make there skin flawless like Taylor's and to achieve there goal. I personally think it depends on how the product affects your skin because people can get rashes or damage there skin if they dont know what product works for them the best.
